This is followed by some letters from Niobrara, Rosebud Agency, and Standing Rock Agency, again talking about the July Catholic Indians’ Congress at Cheyenne River. Again, there is a “Supplement” from Our School Children’s Department, which includes: (1) A note on Rev. Bishop M. Marty, (2) an update from Sisters School, (3) a note from Crow Creek Agency, and (4) a note/introduction of the Industrial School at Qu’Apelle. There is a continuation of the Louise Sighouin segment in Dakota (from last month’s newsletter). There is also a note about the history of the Catholic popes, with a brief biography and a portrait drawing of Pope Leo XIII (who was the pope at that time, in 1892). Continuation of the Lord’s Prayer discussion and letters from Standing Rock and St. Francis wrap up the newsletter. |
